On October 31, 2014 “Nerses the Shnorhali” youth choir at “Hayartun” center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia visited the village Karmir in Marneuli district. The purpose of the visit was to popularize Armenian culture in Armenian localities and create song and dance groups there.

The school Director Hmayakan Sahakyan, Administrator Arkadi Petrosyan, and the gym Supervisor Gevorg Mirzoyan welcomed the guests. The parish priest of Armenian communities in Marneuli Movses Ashuryan blessed the crowd in the village gym. The Director of cultural department at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, the Leader of the “Hayartun” center Levon Chidilyan announced that a dance group would be formed in the village Red. The group would be supported by administration of the school and sponsored by Davit Davtyan, a local by origin, but living in Russia. The local children would be studying Armenian and Georgian folk dances twice a week in the gym. Famous choreographer from Tbilisi Liana Kashavanidze would be teaching there. Levon Chidilyan valued the support of the locals in the process of developing and spreading national culture in Armenian localities.

Later the concert started. Soloists of “Nerses the Shnorhali” youth choir and “Hayartun” center Anna Poghosova and Henrikh Petrosyan made a nice performance under the guidance of choirmaster Maria Abulyan and to the accompaniment of piano-player Karen Mirzoyan. All this made a happy atmosphere.

At the end of the event, “Hayartun” center passed a large amount of literature to the school library.

“Hayartun” center thanks the Ministry of Culture of RA for the support provided and informs that the tendency to spread the national culture and create song and dance groups will be continuous, and will spread on other Armenian localities as well.
