On October 26, 2014, the documentary film “Armenians” was presented in Galust Gyulbenkyan hall of the “Hayartun” Center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. The film was shot in 2000 by the First Channel of Georgia with the project “Diaspora” by Tenguiz Malania and Temur Lomsadze. The film presentation was devoted to “Tbilisoba” holiday. The author of the project and the movie director Tenguiz Malania and the film artist Guivi Shahnazar were attending the presentation.

The President of the Union of Armenian Musicians in Georgia Artem Kirakozov informed the participants about the idea of organizing the presentation of the film shot 15 years ago. He highlighted the necessity of introducing the culture and lifestyle of different nations living in Georgia, as well as the necessity of mutually respecting the customs and traditions of different nations.

The film director underlined that according to the project, during two years they were going to shoot films about other communities and about the trace they left in the process of the development of this city, but the realization of the project was stopped due to complicated situations and difficulties.

According to the writer and translator Guivi Shahnazar, the film “Armenians” could be modernized and at least partially it would be possible to show the role of an Armenian artist in the process of city construction and development.

The Director Tenguiz Malania highly estimated the activities of the “Hayartun” center, where he often witnessed the events organized. He thanked for readily accepting his documentary film “Armenians”.

There was an offer of organizing and supporting a documentary film about Armenians living in Georgia.
