On October 19, 2014, as a part of “Sunday Movies” series, the documentary film “From Ararat to Europe” was screened in “Hayartun” Center at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. The film was shot by director and cameraman Artak Avdalyan on the basis of the scenario by Gagik Ginosyan and Arsen Hakobyan. Arsen Hakobyan had arrived to Tbilisi specially to introduce the film to the audience.

Before the film would start, the author talked about the idea of shooting a film, which would reflect the image of a real Armenian, and the Armenian Land, as a country, which was the first to accept and spread Christianity as a state religion. He also talked about the work of the creative group. The purpose of shooting the film was to show the role of Armenian ecclesiastical architecture in Europe, as well as the mutual influence of European and Armenian ecclesiastical architecture, all of them based on documentary evidence. The works on the film “From Ararat to Europe” started in 2007. The authors of the film had travelled to France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Georgia, had passed 11 thousand kilometers in search for traces of Christian culture. As a result of targeted and untiring work, the film was already ready in 2010. It was screened in different countries of the world and gained high appreciation of the audience.

Galoust Gyulbenkyan hall was crowded. The Armenian audience in Tbilisi was fascinated by the film. The scenes shot, and the recorded stories of scientists and spiritual figures of different nationalities were a real confirmation of the truth that Armenians had left their trace in the creation of cultural monuments in their countries. At the end, the author of the film gladly answered the questions of the audience. He mentioned that the film was shot in five languages and was accepted with great interest everywhere.
