October 12 of the current year was remarkable with the commemoration of the poetry of Viktor Hovsepyan, who was a talented son of this country. The celebration took place in Heshtia village of Ninotsminda region. Guests had arrived from Tbilisi, as well as from Akhalkalak, Ninotsminda, Akhaltsikhe regions and villages to absorb and interact with his human and universal, lyrical and patriotic, meditative and philosophical widely creative world. A member of Georgia Parliament Henzel Mkoyan, Ninotsminda Regional Department President Gagik Karslyan, People’s Assembly President Smbat Kyureghyan, Gevorg Snkhchyan - President of Armenian writers’ union in Georgia, called “Vernatun”, the leader of the cultural and youth center “Hayartun” at Armenian Diocese in Georgia Levon Chidilyan, Press Archive at Armenian Diocese in Georgia Susanna Khachatryan, director of “Hary Davtyan” Puppet Theatre Zhanna Davtyan and others bowed to the memory of Viktor Hovsepyan.

The celebration started from Viktor Hovsepyan’s house – museum, where the guests listened to Guisane Hovsepyan’s detailed speech about her father’s poetic heritage, about the books published after his death, as well as about his unique works. Guisane Hovsepyan is the researcher and coordinator of the unique works of her late father. The poet’s daughter also talked about the unlimited imaginary world of Viktor Hovsepyan as a painter. She valued his style of poet-painter and painter-poet.

The guests then bowed and put flowers at Viktor Hovsepyan’s immortal tomb in the yard of Yeraknyak St. Gevorg chapel, where the poet is buried.

The priest St. Armash Poghosyan - spiritual shepherd of Armenians in Ninotsminda region at Samtskhe-Javakhk Vicariate, prayed for the peace of the poet and philosopher’s soul. Then Gevorg Snkhchyan made a speech, and the pupils read a few of the great humane’s works.

Viktor Hovsepyan worked at Heshtia Number 1 secondary school for many years. Now the school bears his name. The guests also paid a visit to the classrooms where the great Armenologist and philologist had worked for years. Till now on the walls of the classroom there have been preserved the photos and ideas and expressions by poets and thinkers that helped him to educate his students. The two words from his last lesson are deliberately kept on the blackboard.

The daughter of the Hovspeyan’s family, Nane Hovsepyan, who now leads Viktor Hovsepyan School, shortly presented her father as a pedagogue, then the schoolchildren introduced a series from the poets works.

Commemoration of Hovsepyan Day continued in Heshtia culture house. Proud with their son and estimating his greatness, the population of Heshtia had gathered in the full hall. Levon Chidilyan, Susanna Khachatryan, poet Silva Sipanuhi, poets Gevorg Hayastan, Hmayak Grigoryan and others made a heartily speech on the greatness of Viktor Hovsepyan.

The performances of “Parvana” song and dance ensemble from Ninotsminda Culture House, “Araks” dance group from Heshtia, soloists Armen Mkoyan, Hayastan Ispiryan, Anahit Khachatryn, as well as recitation of the schoolchildren made the celebration even happier. Heshtia village was filled with the breath of their son’s poets, and the sky was filled with Viktor Hovsepyan’s always alive spirit.
