From October 4 to 6 inclusive there were organized charity concerts in Armenian localities of Georgia, in the cultural centers of Akhalkalaki and Ninotsminda regions, as well as in Daragyugh village of Tsalka region. These charity concerts, devoted to the 23^rd anniversary of the Independence of Armenia, were the initiative of the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs of RA, and were supported by the local communities. The winners of the project “National Voice” on “Shant” channel of RA and the participants of the contest “Duduk chosen” were participating in the concerts.

Tbilisi was the last haunt of the outbound charity concerts. The concert organized here on October 7 in Nodar Dumbadze Youth Theatre was devoted to two important holidays of the Armenian nation – the Independence Day of RA and the day of the Holy Translators. The concert was supported by “Hayartun” Center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia.

The members of the delegation of the National Assembly of RA, who were in Tbilisi those days, headed by the President of the National Assembly Galust Sahakyan, as well as Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop St. Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, the Ambassador of Armenia in Georgia Mr. Yuri Vardanyan, head of the Department of Armenian communities in Caucasian countries at the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs of RA Taron Shagoyan and others were in the full hall.

During the opening ceremony of the concert the head of the Culture Department at Armenian Diocese in Georgia and the leader of “Hayartun” Center Levon Chidilyan highlighted the approach of the Ministry of Diaspora towards spreading national culture in Armenian communities and its preservation. He introduced the young performers, music players who had made a cheerful atmosphere in Armenian localities of Javakhk and now in Tbilisi.

The President of the National Assembly of RA Galust Sahakyan congratulated the participants on the holidays and the cheerful atmosphere. He referred to the questions raised by the delegation of the National Assembly of RA and the members of Georgia Parliament in Tbilisi those days.

Professional singers and dancers played national music, performed national songs and dances, making a cheerful atmosphere in the hall.

At the end of the concert Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop St. Vazgen Mirzakhanyan blessed the participants and talked about the significance of regaining independence. He called the independence and the Translators’ Holiday one of the biggest values; he estimated the creation of Armenian writings and history by Mesrop Mashtots, Sahak Partev, Yeghishe and other authors. The Primate appreciated the activities realized to preserve the Armenian nation; he separated the role of Church in the life of the Armenian nation and valued the friendly relations of Armenian and Georgian people, the importance of developing Armenian culture, and preserving spiritual values in this land. He called to consolidate around a point of preserving the Armenian national spirit and strengthen it everywhere.

Once again the Primate thanked the organizers and the participants of the concert, and congratulated everyone on the day of Independence and the day of Holy Translators.
