Bolnis-Khachen

The business trip of the young Armenians to Bolnis-Khachen became the first feedback to the “Young Leaders’ Training Courses” recently organized in Tserovani. The visit was offered by a participant from Bolnis-Khachen, and was supported by the Department of the Youth Affairs in the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia.

On September 4 of the current year, early in the morning, 25 young Armenians living in Tbilisi, headed by the director of the Youth Affairs in the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia Valeri Badalyan, the director of Legal Affairs and Cooperation Department Levon Isakhanyan, as well as the responsible of the so called census Innesa Sarukhanyan, had a business trip to Bolnis-Khachen village in the region of Bolnisi. The trip was realized under the patronage of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia. The visit aimed to interact with the local people, to get acquainted with their problems and to record the details of the locals.

The local young people joined the visitors in the village. The young people were hosted in the building of the public school, where they divided into groups of four. One of the group members was necessarily a local. Visiting families, they got acquainted with the Bolnisi people, asked about their problems and recorded the details of all family members.

After the summary of the business trip at the end of the day, it was clear that the main problems in Bolnis-Khachen were related to the issues of water and gas. As per the locals, this village of 2250 inhabitants has for years been deprived of these vitally important household conditions.

The villagers hoped that the authorities would be informed about their problems. Some of the locals subscribed to the Georgian Diocese weekly newspaper “Ardzagank”.
