On April 19, in the evening, in Surb Etchmiadzin Church of Tbilisi, before the Festive Mass "Chragaluyts" - lighting the torches - held on the eve of the Lord's Resurrection, literary and musical performance entitled “The Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ or Easter”, organized by Armenian department of Public School № 103 in Tbilisi (Administrator – Hasmik Papikyan), took place. 15 children, first through fourth grade students of Armenian origin from school’s Russian department, who at the beginning of the school year have moved to the Armenian department and with the teachers’ support have been mastering Armenian language, took part in the event. According to Gayane Mkhitaryan’s plan, who is a teacher of Armenian Language and Literature at school and the event organizer, the first independent performance of these children in native language like baptizing was held under the holy arches of the church. The clergy, faithful, parents and guests listened to the declamation and beautiful songs performed by the students.

The event, which was dedicated to the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, was full of artistic performances depicting the life of Jesus Christ, his birth, crucifixion and Resurrection.

At the end of the event the Head of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan addressed the audience. He highly appreciated the fact that teachers educate children with complete devotion and give their students Armenian education. His Grace called on the attendees to bring their children back to their roots, give them Armenian education and stay close to the Armenian Church.

The participants of literary and musical performance received presents from the International Organization Samaritan's Purse in Georgia.
