Armenian Studies Seminar at the “Hayartun” Center PDF Print E-mail

The Department of Youth Affairs of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia (headed by Gevorg Antonyan) has been cooperating with Public Administration Academy of the Republic of Armenia for one year, and therefore it was decided to conduct Armenian Studies Seminar, initiated by the students of different faculties of the Academy. The project, which was held on March 16, 2014 at the “Hayartun” Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, was aimed to present institutes of public administration, the development of Armenian-Georgian relations concerning economy, foreign policy, geography and church construction to the Armenians of Georgia and the youth of Tbilisi in particular. Levon Chidilyan delivered a welcome speech and opened the seminar. He presented the work of the Department of Youth Affairs at the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, stressing the importance of similar projects implementation for the formation of Armenian national consciousness.

The audience, which consisted of students attending different universities in Tbilisi and future applicants, listened to the reports of the academy students from Yerevan on public administration, Armenian foreign policy, and Armenian tourism development, economic and political relations with neighboring Georgia. The academy students discussed more details on the main characteristics of the Armenian character, the formation of Armenian national consciousness, and famous Armenians. At the end of the meeting Gayane Bejanyan presented Public Administration Academy of the Republic of Armenia to the audience, which operates under the auspices of the Armenian President, the admissions to the Academy and study process, the benefits we can enjoy. Participating in the seminar Academy students Lilit Khurshudyan, Sos Akopyan, Artur Grigoryan, Tigran Elbakyan answered the question of the audience. It was suggested to organize similar events on a regular basis, to cooperate with Academy students and to invite them to the Young Leaders’ seminar of the Department of Youth Affairs of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia. The guests from Yerevan accompanied by the Armenian youth of Tbilisi visited the Tbilisi Pantheon of the Armenian Writers and Public Figures “Khojivank” and Gary Davtyan Puppet and Culture House, went sightseeing in Tbilisi.
