With a view to conducting the Divine Liturgy at Surb Gevorg Church in Ghushch village of Tsalka region and giving a wonderful concert, on the 22nd of June, under the leadership of the Head of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, the clergy and center management representatives, accompanied by solo performers and dance ensemble “Vanq” had arrived from Tbilisi to this Armenian-populated village.

Spiritual shepherd of Akhalkalaki and nearby villages Priest Tatev Marukyan along with the church choir joined them in Ghushch village. Spiritual shepherd of Armenian communities in Tsalka of the Vicariate of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Samtskhe-Javakheti Priest Movses Manukyan welcomed the guests here.

In the building of the 19th century, at Surb Gevorg Church of Ghushch village, under the leadership of the Head of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, the Divine Liturgy was served. Priest Movses Manukyan conducted the divine service. Deputy Chairman of Tsalka National Assembly Gocha Khachaturyan, the Village Heads of Nardevan, Dashbash, Darakov, Burnashet villages - Antaram Meltonyan, Giorgi Pepenyan, Babgen Vahradyan, Mkhitar Sargsyan, Vardan Mehrabyan and others attended the Liturgy.

At the end of the service the Head of the Diocese delivered a sermon and blessed the community.

Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan spoke about the Commemoration of Sts. Tiridates, King of Armenia, Queen Ashkhen and Princess Khosrovidoukht, who became the apologists for the adoption and spread of Christianity in Armenia, he urged to remain devoted to faith, which was primarily adopted by the Armenian people, to keep and preserve our language, to develop national culture and traditions.

After that at the village stadium Tbilisi dance ensemble “Vanq”, functioning at school № 104, (choreographer Liana Kashavanidze) and solo performers Anna Poghosova, Ani Ghushchyan, Ruben Voskanyan, Genrikh Petrosyan, with the participation of church choir from Akhalkalaki, gave a splendid concert. Gushch village Head Vardan Mehrabyan expressed his gratitude for the visit and the creation of festive mood.

Crowded stadium, warm and emotional welcome demonstrated that such spiritual and cultural visits are extremely necessary for the inhabitants of the mountain villages in Armenian-populated regions.
