A Personal Exhibition of a Young Photographer Was Opened at the “Hayartun” Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia PDF Print E-mail

On the 22nd of June, in Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of the "Hayartun" Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia a personal photo exhibition of Tbilisi Public School № 98 student, 15-year-old Edward Badoyan, was opened. It was initiated by the Union of Armenian Artists of Georgia. Almost three dozen works entitled “My Tiflis” are the expression of the unique beauty of teenager’s beloved city.

Press Speaker of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia Susanna Khachaturian opened the exhibition, evaluating many events different in nature and sense, carried out at the “Hayartun” center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, she called, perhaps, special the personal exhibition of the 15-year-old boy. Spiritual shepherd of Surb Etchmiadzin Church Priest Samvel Torosyan blessed the young photographer, and he spoke about his admiration and interest, which he had experienced, when he first saw that pictures in their home.

Chairman of the Union of Armenian Painters of Georgia Merujhan Shahumyan assessed Edward Badoyan’s creative talent, and called these pictures full of drama and tragedy.

Advisor to the President of Georgia Van Baiburtian, filmmaker and artist Michael Grigorian, President of the Tbilisi branch of the Union of Armenian Intellectuals of Georgia Yenok Tadevosyan, a creator of embroidered icons Michael Mchedlishvili, photographer’s class teacher and others highly praised the hard work of the young photographer, his ability to capture a moment and shooting skills, the ability to create complex compositions in an interesting combination.

The Head of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan blesses 15-year-old Edward Badoyan and the audience, he wished the young man to continue with diligence to develop his abilities and to be closer to the nation and the church.

Erward Badoyan expressed his gratitude to the Union of Armenian Artists of Georgia and parents; he mentioned that it was his dream to organize an exhibition at the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia close to Surb Etchmiadzin Church in Avlabar.

The personal exhibition of photographer Edward Badoyan will run until the 1st of July.
