On 31 May, 2013 in Batumi club “Edem” the evening, dedicated to Georgia’s Independence Day and the Proclamation of the First Republic of Armenia, was held. The Union of Armenians in Ajara with the support of Batumi City Hall organized the event. Deputy Consul of RA in Georgia Armen Grigoryan, Mayor of Batumi Jemal Ananidze, deputies of Ajara Local Parliament, veterans, the participants of the Great Patriotic War and many others attended the evening.

The spiritual leader of Armenians in Ajara Priest Ararat Gumbalyan blessed the evening and congratulated the audience on the occasion of the holidays. On behalf of the Directorial Board of the Union of Armenians in Ajara the Chairperson of the Union of Armenians in Ajara Grigory Vardanyan delivered a speech; he congratulated everyone on the occasion of Georgia’s Independence Day and the Proclamation of the First Republic of Armenia.

The festive concert featured: Ajara State Song and Dance Ensemble, Vocal-Instrumental Ensemble “Batumi”, Show Ballet "Platina", representatives of Ajara Association of Latin American Dances, Ensemble "Elita".
