The Famous Musician Tigran Mansurian Visited the “Hayartun” Cultural Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church in Georgia PDF Print E-mail

On 20 April, 2013 the world famous musician Tigran Mansurian with his sister Sonya Mansurian- Ashjian visited the “Hayartun” Cultural Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church in Georgia. The maestro had arrived in Tbilisi to attend the concert of the Georgian State Symphony Orchestra with the participation of the world famous musician Kim Kashkashian, the program of which also included his work.

The Head of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan received dear guest. The well-known musician lit a candle and prayed at Surb Etchmiadzin Church of the Diocese of Armenian Apostolic in Georgia, which is situated in Avlabari. In Calouste Gulbenkian Hall the maestro with excitement viewed the works presented by Armenian artists of Georgia in the exhibition entitled "Armenian Golgotha”, dedicated to the Armenian Genocide.

The outstanding musician attended the lesson of St. Nerses Shorhali Kids Vocal Ensemble, operating at the “Hayartun” Center, and listened to the songs in their performance, and then he spoke to the students of St. Gregory of Narek Sunday school, watched the video of the spring holiday with the participation of St. Movses Khorenatsi Kindergarten students. The talented musician expressed his gratitude to the Head of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, under whose direct supervision at the “Hayartun” Cultural Center the activities for the benefit of the nation are conducted.

After that Tigran Mansurian and Mrs. Sonya Mansurian-Ashjian met the representatives of the Armenian culture and intellectuals in Tbilisi. During the warm conversation they touched upon issues of common interest.

Tigran Mansurian with the Head of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, and accompanied with the Armenian intellectuals of Tbilisi visited the Tbilisi Pantheon of the Armenian Writers and Public Figures “Khojivank”, where they laid flowers, lit candles and burned incense on graves of ancestors.

On the same day the representatives of the Armenian intellectuals of Tbilisi accompanied by the Head of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanayn attended the concert with the participation of Kim Kashkashian and Nikoloz Rachveli, conducting the State Symphonic Orchestra of Georgia, which was held at Tbilisi Eugene Mikeladze National Music Center, where music lovers of Armenian and Georgian public, among other works listened to wonderful music of Tigran Mansurian.
