The Day of “Blessing of Motherhood and Beauty” at the “Hayartun” Cultural Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church in Georgia PDF Print E-mail

On 5 April, 2013 on the Eve of Annunciation Feast the “Hayartun” Cultural Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church in Georgia hosted an event “Creative Young Women”. With the support of the “Hayartun” Cultural Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church in Georgia and the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, the Association of Armenian Women in Georgia “Shushanik” initiated the event. Writers and artists, outstanding personalities and other representatives of the Armenian community attended the evening.
The Head of the Association of Armenian Women of Georgia "Shushanik" Susanna Khachaturian opened the evening. She presented to the audience the purpose of the event - to introduce young Armenian women of Tbilisi, who are engaged in creative activities in the field of literature and art.

Spiritual supervisor and responsible for youth affairs of the “Hayartun” Cultural Center deacon Gevorg Antonyan told the audience about the Feast of the Annunciation. It is celebrated aсcording to the Christian calendar, and upon the Pontifical order of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, the Feast of the Annunciation to the Virgin Mary is proclaimed as a day of “Blessing of Motherhood and Beauty”.

Merujhan Shaumyan, Chairman of the Union of Armenian Painters of Georgia, congratulated the audience with remarkable Feast of the Annunciation, and spoke about the phenomenon of famous women artists in the field of fine art; he also introduced the young Armenian women artists.

Then, after a short introduction, repeatedly published, writing in prose and in verse young Armenian women writers of Tbilisi, violinists, who took part in many competitions and festivals, dancers and singers showed a wonderful performance.

The Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan blessed the audience and congratulated the creative women with the Feast of the Annunciation, he inspired the women to continue creative work with a great dedication in order to achieve new heights and develop the Armenian culture.

Beautiful spring festival ended with a dance "Tsagikner" ("Flowers") performed by the ensemble "Jeyran", which functions at the "Hayartun" Cultural Center. All women were given flowers.
