Pilgrims of Tavush Diocese visited Tbilisi PDF Print E-mail

A1On July 25, 2018, on the initiative of the Diocese of Tavush of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church and with blessings of the Primate of the Diocese, His Grace Bishop Bagrat Galstyan, a group of teachers of the Sunday schools arrived in Tbilisi to make a pilgrimage. The pilgrims were about 60 teachers from the Sunday schools of the Saint John church of the village of Berd (Pastor Rev. Father Aram Mirzoyan), Holy Mother of God (Surb Astvatsatsin) church in Movses village (Pastor Rev. 1 1Father Abel Kartashyan), as well as Saint Sargis church in Noyemberyan region, Saint John church in Koghb, churches of Ijevan, Dilijan and nearby villages (Pastor Rev. Father Smbat Abrahamyan).   
Reaching Tbilisi, the pilgrims prayed in the Saint Etchmiadzin church, lit candles and visited the “Hayartun” Center, where Eugenia Markosyan, Director of the Educational Department greeted them. The latter told the guests about the functions of the Center, highlighted the significant role and importance of the Center in maintaining the Armenian national, spiritual and cultural monuments 1 2in Georgia.
The Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan offered his blessings to the guests. Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan wished unshakable faith to the pilgrims and God – pleasing and devoted service to Reverend Fathers who led the pilgrims. His Grace conveyed his warm wishes to his spiritual brother Bishop Bagrat.
The pilgrims, accompanied by Deacon Gevorg Antonyan, the Assistant to the Primate, 1 3attended Tbilisi Pantheon of the Armenian Writers and Public Figures “Khojivank”, visited the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Georgian Orthodox Church.
The pilgrims from Tavush were welcomed by the Pastor Rev. Father Samvel Torosyan and the Assistant to the Pastor Rev. Father Kirakos Simonyan at the Cathedral of Saint George in Tbilisi.
Though the pilgrims from Tavush attended Tbilisi with one – day visit, they managed to enjoy the unique atmosphere of the “House of Hovhannes Tumanyan” Center and feel the hospitable breath of the House of Great poet from Lori.
After a walk in Tbilisi in the evening, the pilgrims from Tavush returned to their Homeland with bright and unforgettable impressions.
