a1On June 13, 2018, the farewell meeting of the Armenian students, who studying at various Higher education institutions (HEIs) in Tbilisi and who has participated in preparatory Georgian language course within the frameworks of 1+4 program took place at the Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of the “Hayartun” Center. It was also a celebration event for university entrants.
Director of the Youth Department of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia Valeri Badalyan summarized the additional preparatory courses held at the “Hayartun” Center during the past academic year and thanked Harutyun Malkhasyan and Stepan Efajyan, the students of the Faculties of Social Policy and Informatics of the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. At the initiative of these students, a voluntary additional training in Georgian language preparatory course is organized for the second year to help Armenian students, studying at Georgian HEIs, to pass exams in Georgian language for admission in universities. Together with the authors of the project, the undergraduate students of the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University took part in the trainings.
About 70 young people from various Armenian-populated regions of Georgia participated in weekly reviews and commentaries of different topics, getting answers to their questions, receiving support.
The training was organized in four directions – for admission to the faculties of medicine, law and economics as well as to the humanitarian faculties. The trainings were held on mathematics, general abilities, English language and anatomy. Meetings and presentations on international, legal and billing education were held. The studies were presented on medical and civic education topics. Documentary and scientific films were shown and games, competitions and quizzes were held.
At the end of the training, the participant zero-year students delivered speeches. They expressed their deep gratitude to the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, with whose blessings the additional trainings are held. They also thanked the Youth Department of the Diocese and authors of the project for their help and support.
