A1On May 14, 2018, the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan presided 20180514 174546over the meeting of the Samtskhe – Javakheti and Tsalka's General Prelacy's Clergy.
The report on the four-month activity of the Clergy was on the agenda. Spiritual Servants spoke in detail about the spiritual, religious, ritual, cultural and social programs implemented in the regions.
The effective activity of the consecrated churches and communities during 2017 was gratifying. In their speeches the clergymen noted with enthusiasm that in the most of communities people does not aimed to carry out baptism and wedding ceremonies at the city churches any more, they prefer churches in their settlements. This is a result of pastors' good work in regions. The priests mentioned that organization of the cultural and culinary events in the regions aroused great enthusiasm, for example, Dolma festivals which took place after Easter feasts, Gata festival during the Median day of Lent (Mijink) and Harisa festival 20180514 180232during the Great Barekendan. The people are also enjoying the events related to the folk traditions, carried out with festive luxury together with the church feasts.
The chief accountant, assistant manager and coordinator of the Educational, Cultural and Youth Center presented reports at the meeting. The Pastors had a request – they asked to provide the pastorates and cultural centers with microphones and other technical equipment for the implementation of cultural events at the communities. The Diocesan Primate highly appreciated activities of the Clergymen and Diocesan officials, conveyed them his blessings and instructed to pay more attention to the quality of the rituals and ceremonies offered in churches, proper preparation of the sermons for Liturgies, increase the attention and attentiveness towards the churches and effectiveness of the works with the people.
