On November 11, the Rafael Javakh Cultural Educational and Youth Center in Ninotsminda hosted an event, during which Hovhannes Marikyan was awarded with the medal, Gevork Hayasa and Albert Isoyan received a membership card. The honorary ceremony was performed by Director of the Rafael Javakh Cultural and Educational Center, President of Vernatun Union of Armenian Writers of Georgia, Zhora Snkhchyan, who gave Rev. Father Armash Poghosyan, Pastor of Surb Sargis Church and Armenians in Ninotsminda (Samtskhe-Javakheti and Tsalka's General Prelacy of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia), offered his blessings and made congratulatory remarks. The attendees were briefed on the career of the award-winning writers, the books they have published, their activities for preservation of the Armenian identity, their propaganda efforts that aim at strengthening of the friendly Armenian-Georgian relations.
In attendance were the Armenian writers of Georgia, intellectuals, heads of regional administration, workers in other fields, the Center’s students and teachers. Samvel Iritsyan, Koryun Basentsyan, Divin Kashanyan, Hmayak Grigoryan and others congratulated the writers of receiving the high award. The event featured sensational performances by the choir and soloists of Rafael Javakh Center (lead by I. Karslyan), as well as members of the recitation club (lead by S. Snkhchyan), who recited the works of the writers. A reception followed. |
