On August 18, 2017, with the blessings of Very Rev. Fr. Babken Salbiyan, the Prelate of Samtskhe-Javakheti and Tsalka's General Prelacy of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia; and accompanied by Rev. Father Tatev Marukyan, the Pastor of the Holy Cross Church in Akhalkalalki; a group of senior campers of the backyard camp adjunct to the Holy Cross Church with a joint prayer traveled to Akhaltsikhe, where they spent one day.

The first stop was in the St. Gregory the Illuminator Church in Akhaltsikhe, where they were welcomed by Rev. Father Torgom Vardanyan, the Pastor of the church. They raised a joint prayer to God, received the blessings of Rev. Fathers, and were introduced to the history of the church.

The next stop was at the Rabati Citadel. The teenagers, accompanied by a guide, toured the citadel, learned many interesting facts about the history of the ancient fortress, asked questions and received answers.

The campers returned home late at night, with great impressions, the event ended with songs and dances.
