On February 5, 2017, the “Rafael Javakh” Cultural Educational and Youth Center in Ninotsminda hosted a demonstration lesson of the Armenian Church History Class (teacher – Rima Sahakyan). The lesson was devoted to the history and localization of world religions and religious denominations.

The “Rafael Javakh” Center’s senior grade students - Lilit Mkrtchian, Anahit Khachatryan, Rima Grigoryan, Aleda and Varditer Khachatryan, Grigor Yezayan, Giorgi and Ani Antonyan and Farida Tazayan – gave a brief introduction to Christianity, Buddhism and Islam, a video presentation was shown highlighting the culture, everyday life, national and religious traditions of Armenia, the United Arab Emirates and Japan, the countries that profess the aforementioned religions.

Among the audience were the Center’s students, teachers and parents. The event was very interesting and informative. The Head of the “Rafael Javakh” Center, Zhora Snkhchian, and Rev. Father Armash Poghosyan, Pastor of Armenian community in Ninotsminda region of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, appreciated highly the work of the class, emphasizing that tolerance, perception and enlarging of knowledge are of great importance to the History class during the lessons. Words of appreciation were extended to the teacher and students for their dedicated work. Pieces of advice were given about the problems to avoid when planning similar events.
