At the invitation of the Mayor of the Georgian capital, on the occasion of Tbilisoba (Tbilisi City Fest), celebrated on October 15-16, 2016, delegation of Yerevan City Hall, led by Yerevan Deputy Mayor, David Ohanyan, took an official visit to Tbilisi.

On October 15, Tbilisi Mayor David Narmania received government officials from the capital of Armenia. The government officials of the two capitals discussed issues related to strengthening of friendly relations and development of cooperation. Delegation of Yerevan City Hall participated in a number of events in relation to Tbilisoba celebration.

On October 16, delegation of Yerevan City Hall visited the Cathedral of St. George in Tbilisi, at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, and attended the Divine Liturgy celebrated under the presidency of the Diocesan Primate. The Armenian community officials of Tbilisi and David Chichinade, MP Candidate of Georgian Dream in Isani district, who got a free pass to the second tour of Georgia’s parliamentary election, were also in attendance.

Following the Divine Liturgy, the guests visited the Diocesan Headquarters. The Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan welcomed the visit of the delegation of Yerevan City Hall to Tbilisi, and expressed his wish that friendship between the two cities would contribute to further deepening of friendly relations between Armenians and Georgians, strengthening the cooperation between the two ancient and sacred capital cities.

The faithful of Surb Zoravor Astvatsatsin Church in Yerevan, led by the Pastor of the Church, Rev. Father Vahan Arakelyan, who had made a pilgrimage to Georgia, attended the Sunday Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of St. George.
