On October 2, 2016, the Calouste Gulbenkian hall of the Hayartun Center at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia hosted a lecture entitled “A Comparison of Beliefs between the Armenian Apostolic and Orthodox Churches”, which was delivered by Rev. Fr. Narek Ghushyan, Dean of the Cathedral of Saint George of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia.

Rev. Father started his lecture with the 4th century, when Armenia adopted Christianity as a state religion; spoke about the Christology of the Armenian Church, highlighting the development of Christianity until 451 AD, the Council of Chalcedon.

Rev. Fr. Narek Ghushyan properly presented a comparison of beliefs between the Armenian Apostolic and Orthodox Churches, referred to the Sacrament of Baptism, explained, why the Armenian Church does not accept rebaptism, drew parallels between the similarities and differences, which are regulated by different Churches.

The Rev. Father answered the questions of the audience.

At the initiative of Rev. Father Narek Ghushyan, similar lectures will be held on regular basis.
