The Presentation of the Movie Devoted to Jivani PDF Print E-mail

On September 18, 2016, the Galouste Gyulbenkyan Hall of the Hayartun Center at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia hosted the film “The Gracious, Fair, Honorable” presentation, devoted to the 170th anniversary of the birth of an Armenian gusan (bard) Jivani. Rita Sharoyan is the film writer and producer, Armen Ronov-Mkrtchyan is the film director.

The director of Culture Department of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, Levon Chidilyan, gave opening remarks, and emphasized that in the jubilee year to honor the great Armenian bard, the Hayartun Center at the beginning of the second half of 2016 hosted the presentation of the movie devoted to Jvani. The speaker referred to the jubilee events held in Tbilisi; laying flowers at the tomb of Jivani at the Tbilisi Pantheon of the Armenian Writers and Public Figures “Khojivank”; the opening of the Jivani House Museum in Kartsakh village, the birthplace of ashik; literary and musical events in memory of Jivani in places inhabited by Armenians. Later the screening of documentary, which went through the biographical pages of Jivani’s life and presented the history of the keman, the ashik’s favorite musical instrument, which occupies the rank of the Armenian national instrument, was held.

Following the screening, the film by Armen Ronov-Mkrtchyan devoted to a famous artist, musician and activist Artem Alabulyants was shown. The hero of the movie answered the questions of the audience.
