On July 15, 2016, the Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of the Hayartun Center at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia hosted a memorial evening dedicated to the president of the Assembly of Tbilisi Armenians NGO (from 2012 until 2015), Tbilisi-born Armenian, public figure, prematurely deceased David Manusajyan. The memorial evening marking the first anniversary of David Manusajyan’s tragic death was initiated by the Assembly of Tbilisi Armenians, with the support of the Hayartun Center. A widow of the deceased, his daughter, relatives, friends and acquaintances attended the event.

Prior to the event, in the Saint Etchmiadzin Church in Avlabari, Pastor of the church, Rev. Fr. Narek Ghushyan conducted a service for the repose of the soul of David Manusajyan. Father Narek spoke about the Kingdom of Heaven, he stressed that David was devoted to his nation, family and the Armenian community of Tbilisi; he lived by a principle – selfless devotion to his nation and the Armenians of Tbilisi in particular.

The Cultural Department Head, Levon Chidilyan, gave opening remarks; he called David Manusajyan “the conscience of Armenians of Tbilisi, a role model of a noble service”; the people present observed a minute's silence in honor of the deceased.

The event was hosted by journalist and musician Artem Kirakozov. David was a man of idea, a true individuality, at the same time, a tragic character, who served as a good example of how to live life with dignity, to love the homeland sincerely, and be proud of his homeland. The speaker highlighted that Yevgenia Parsadanova and David Manusajyan had created a beautiful Armenian family, giving their four children good Armenian upbringing.

Friends and relatives shared their memories of the former president of the Assembly of Tbilisi Armenians; they spoke about the profundity of his thoughts, philosophical mindset, good personal traits, honesty, loyalty and humaneness.

The widow of the deceased gave closing remarks. Speaking about her prematurely deceased husband, she emphasized his inexhaustible patriotism and a dream to see his nation united. Mrs. Parsadanova thanked the Assembly of Tbilisi Armenians and the Hayartun Center for organizing the memorial evening.

The episodes from his short but meaningful life, as well as excerpts of the interviews given by David Manusajyan to mass media on issues concerning the Armenian Diocese in Georgia and the Armenian community of Tbilisi were presented during the event.
