At the initiative of Rev. Father Samvel Torosyan, Pastor of the Saint Gevorg Cathedral at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, upon receiving the blessing and good wishes of His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, on June 24-26, 2016, a group consisting of 30 Armenian faithful of Tbilisi made a pilgrimage to Armenian holy sites.

On June 24 the group of pilgrims visited the historic Khor Virap Monastery, lit candles and offered prayers asking for the intercession of the first Catholicos of All Armenians.

The pilgrims traveled to Tatev Monastery, where they were welcomed by Very Rev.Fr, Michael Gevorkyan, the prior of Tatev Monastery. The pilgrims attended an Evening Service; the following day they participated in the Divine Liturgy celebrated by Rev. Father Samvel Torosyan in Tatev Monastery. The pilgrims from Tbilisi were welcomed by Father Michael, who delivered a message.

On the same day the Armenian faithful of Tbilisi visited the Shaki Waterfall situated 6 km from the town of Sisian, admired the beauty of the area, prayed and lit candles in the Monastery of Noravank, located in Vayots Dzor Province.

On June 26 the Armenian faithful of Tbilisi were in attendance of a Divine Liturgy in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, at the St. Trdat Open Air Altar, offered by His Holiness Karekin II with the prayerful presence of Pope Francis of the Roman Catholic Church.

The pilgrims venerated the relics of St. Gayane, toured the St. Hovhannes Mkrtich Church in Abovyan before returning to Tbilisi.

The pilgrims returned to Tbilisi spiritually reborn and filled with rich impressions.
