The Haybusak University Administration at the Hayartun Center PDF Print E-mail

On June 19, 2016, the Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of the Hayartun Center at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia hosted a meeting with the delegation of the Yerevan Haybusak University, a private university in Armenia. Members of delegation included the Rector of the Haybusak University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Medical Science, Suren Harutyunyan; Anahit Harutyunyan, the President of the International Academy of Education; Yanina Marinosyan, Candidate of Medical Sciences; Professor of Astrophysical Sciences, Martin Abramyan. In attendance were Tbilisi Armenian intellectuals, parents, school students, prospective university students.

The Rector of the Haybusak University Educational Centre in Georgia, Tamara Ioramashvili presented the University branches founded in Tbilisi and Akhaltsikhe, which will have Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Law and Faculty of Humanities. Education will be conducted in two languages: Russian and Armenian.

The President of the International Academy of Education, Anahit Harutyunyan, presented the famous higher educational establishment in Yerevan, which was founded in 1990; it is named after Ghevond Alishan’s scientific work “Haybusak”. The University possesses two buildings, the high school and a library, it is provided with the necessary equipment, it offers full-time courses, e-learning and distance education; the University has state accreditation, the diploma is in accordance with the Bologna Process. The abovementioned University together with other higher educational establishments has established the International Academy of Education.

Mrs. Anahit spoke about their goal to establish Georgian-Armenian branch of the abovementioned University, where they are planning to attract local labour force, provide students a full-fledged higher education.

The guests from Yerevan answered the questions of the audience about the duration of studies, state accreditation, tuition fee and diploma recognition. The people present raised an issue concerning preparation of Armenian public school teachers in different subjects in Georgia.

The Yerevan University Administration promised to discuss raised issues and to find solution. It was decided to organize the presentation of Georgian-Armenian branch and to invite prospective university students already in September.
