On June 18, 2016, two-storey building of the Armenian Youth Center, named after the Prime Minister of the First Republic of Armenia, born in Akhalkalaki Hamo Ohanjanyan , solemnly opened. In attendance were many guests, the clergy, intellectuals, community officials from Armenia and different regions of Javakheti. The Armenian Diocese in Georgia was represented by the delegation from Tbilisi, led by Very Rev. Father Khoren Hovhannisyan, assistant to the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. Members of delegation included the Director of the Cultural department and the Head of the Hayartun Center, Levon Chidilyan; Michael Avagyan, Head of Legal Affairs and Cooperation Department; the Founder of The Peace Foundation, Giorgi Tumasyan.

Many guests gave opening remarks and reflected on the important mission of the Center to promote Armenian upbringing of the new generation. On behalf of the Javakhk Fund Committee Bagrat Sargsyan expressed his deepest gratitude to the Armenian community of Tehran, for supporting the construction of the building.

Hamlet Movsisyan, the Chairman of Akhalkalaki’s Regional Assembly; and Samvel Petrosyan, MP elected from Akhalkalaki; also gave opening remarks.

Mkrtich Mkrtchyan, President of the Central Board of the Armenian Nationwide Cultural and Educational Union; and Bagrat Sargsyan, Director of the ARS Javakhk Fund Committee, cut the ribbon to officially open the center.

Later, the home blessing ceremony was conducted with the participation of Very Rev. Father Khoren Hovhannisyan, assistant to the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia; Very Rev. Fr. Babken Salbiyan, the Prelate of Samtskhe-Javakheti and Tsalka's General Prelacy of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia; and Rev. Father Tatev Marukyan .

The Center’s creative groups gave song and dance performances at the opening ceremony of the Youth Center in Akhalkalaki, wonderful musical numbers were performed by the students of Youth Centers in Akhaltsikhe and Ninotsminda.
