At the initiative of the Department of Youth Affairs of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia (Director - Valery Badalyan) and the Hayartun Centre (Director - Levon Chidilyan), on June 16, 2016, sports and intellectual games were held at the gym of Tbilisi № 98 Public School (Head Master – Giorgi Momtsmlidze).

100 young Armenians of Tbilisi participated in the event. They divided into four separate teams; three of them were composed of participants of three stages of the “Ari Tun” Project implemented in Armenia, the fourth one included the youth going to the scout camp. The aim of the competition was to assess the fitness level of the youth, to promote the development of physical culture and health care, to enrich their mind, as well as to unite the students of different schools and universities, give them a chance to make acquaintances and communicate.

The “Gisher” team, leader -Hrachik Surmalyan; the “Mets Hayk” team, leader -Boris Mzikyan; the “Indigo” team, leader - Anri Bazoyan; the “Ararat” team, leader Emil Sarkisyan; competed against each other. The Coordinator of the Youth Activities of the Diocese, Nina Seropova and Suren Abramyan, Choreographer of the Taron Dance Group at the Hayartun Centre, hosted the competition.

Pastor of Kvemo Kartli region at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, Rev. Father Virap Ghazaryan, sound producer Sergey Arutyunyan and operator Gevorg Poghosov were following the games.

The members of the jury were: Dn. Gevorg Antonyan; Revik Karapetyan, a teacher of history of one-day Armenian school; and Valery Badalyan, the Director of the Youth Department. The “Gisher” team, under the leadership of Hrachik Surmalyan, won the competition according to the points scored in sports and intellectual games.
