Church-loving Women’s Association at the Cathedral of St. George Has Been Established PDF Print E-mail

May 8, 2016 became memorable for the Cathedral of St. George at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. The newly formed Church-loving Women’s Association started its activities on this day.

Rev. Father Samvel Torosyan, the Pastor of the church, gave opening remarks during the presentation. He spoke about the importance of creation and goals of the Association. Rev. Father presented spiritual, social, educational, cultural activities, which the Armenian women united around the Church can implement in Georgia, and Tbilisi in particular, for the sake of Christian faith, mother tongue, culture and national identity preservation.

Candidate of Philological Sciences, Professor Emma Akhtyan, Head of the Financial Affairs of the Diocese Margarita Kirakosyan, Secretary Gisane Hovsepyan, journalist Inna Sukiasyan, the Armenian language and literature teacher Gayane Mkhitaryan et al gave their opinion and shared their vision of the Church-loving Women’s Association.

Professor Emma Akhtyan was chosen as the Chairman of the Church-loving Women’s Association, Gayane Mkhitaryan was appointed Vice Chairman, Gisane Hovsepyan was appointed a Secretary. The decision was made to hold regular sessions on the last Sunday of every month, following the Holly Mass, and to hold one event per month.
