Meeting with the Delegation of the Scientific Educational Centre in Yerevan PDF Print E-mail

On May 8, 2016, the “Hayartun” Cultural, Educational and Youth Center at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia hosted a meeting with the delegation of the Scientific Educational Centre in Yerevan of Ternopol National Economic University (Ukraine). The main purpose of the meeting was to throw the doors of the educational establishment, which is Yerevan Branch of Ternopol National Economic University, wide open for young people, to offer public school students and prospective university students an extensive range of study options at both the undergraduate level and graduate programs leading to master’s degree.

The Armenian, Georgian and Ukrainian youth, their parents, high school graduates and teachers were gathered together in the Calouste Gulbenkian Hall. Mr. Georgii Nazarov - Charge d'affaires of the Embassy of Ukraine in Georgia graced the event with his presence. The delegation of the Scientific Educational Centre in Yerevan, headed by Sahak Ghudratyan, Director of the Scientific Educational Centre in Yerevan of Ternopol National Economic University (Ukraine), as well as Khachik Papakhchyan, the representative of Yerevan Branch in Tbilisi, took their seats in the hall.

The aforementioned university students and the solo performer of the “Hayos Band” vocal-instrumental ensemble, Ani Hovhanisyan, welcomed the audience and performed a piece of music.

After that the audience took a video tour of the Scientific Educational Centre in Yerevan of Ternopol National Economic University (Ukraine) to see activities conducted in the university.

Director of the Scientific Educational Centre in Yerevan, Mr. Ghudratyan delivered a speech. He told the history of the university’s branch in Yerevan. The Ternopol National Economic University was established in 1966 and has the 4th level of accreditation. The university diploma is widely recognized by colleges and universities around the world (in 82 countries). The admission process for the established in 2001 university’s branch in Yerevan, the quality of education and student’s everyday life have been presented at length. The speaker informed the audience about exchange programs, including cooperation agreements signed between the Krakow and Yerevan educational establishments. Within the framework of these programs the students of Yerevan Branch are involved in educational practices; the teachers are enrolled in professional development courses at these educational establishments. The director emphasized that students from Turkmenistan, Syria, Iran and Georgia receive higher education at the Scientific Educational Centre in Yerevan, and noted that this year the Kiev Economic University will mark its 100th Anniversary, the Ternopol National Economic University will celebrate its 50th Anniversary, while the Scientific Educational Centre in Yerevan will observe its 15th Anniversary.

The Director of the Scientific Educational Centre in Yerevan answered the questions of the audience mainly concerning the faculties of the higher educational establishment, tuition fee, benefits offered, the language of studies and diploma.

In his remarks, Mr. Georgii Nazarov, Charge d'affaires of the Embassy of Ukraine in Georgia, stressed the important role of education in good upbringing of the new generation, and highlighted that the Embassy of Ukraine in Georgia provides support to the university activities. The diplomat added that beauty will save the world, and beauty is created on the basis of knowledge, as knowledge combines history, culture and diplomacy.

The guests expressed their gratitude for the informative and pleasant meeting.
