Rev. Father Virap Conducted His First Divine Liturgy in the Armenian Diocese in Georgia PDF Print E-mail

On May 1, 2016, by the order of His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, Rev. Father Virap Ghazaryan was appointed to serve in the Armenian Diocese in Georgia.

On May 1, Rev. Father Virap conducted his first Divine Liturgy in the Saint Etchmiadzin Church in Tbilisi.

During the Divine Liturgy Very Rev. Father Khoren Hovhannisyan, assistant to the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, on behalf of the Diocesan Primate, the clergy and the faithful welcomed the newly-appointed Rev. Father and congratulated him on his appointment to serve in the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. The newly-appointed Rev. Father is appointed the Pastor of Armenians in Kvemo Kartli region, concurrently serving in the Saint Etchmiadzin in Tbilisi. In his welcoming speech, Father Khoren wished and urged the Rev. Father to continue his God-pleasing and tireless service for the glory of God and for the benefit of the faithful Armenians.

In his sermon, Rev. Father Virap extended glory and praise to God for bringing him to Georgia, also expressing his kind words of gratitude to the Diocesan Primate for giving him an opportunity to serve in the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. Father Virap, in his sermon, stressed the preservation of national identity in the Diaspora, the important role of the Armenian Church and her mission, and noted that Armenians were creative and industrious wherever they lived, created a bit of their homeland in every country, staying committed to their Church, faith and national identity. Father Virap raised a prayer for peace in Armenia, Georgia and the whole world, asking God to bring the soldiers, who are at the frontline guarding the borders of our fatherland, back home safely to their families.

Moreover, on April 30, Rev. Father Virap Ghazaryan, headed by Very Rev. Father Khoren Hovhannisyan, assistant to the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, celebrated his first Divine Liturgy in the Surb Astvatsatsin Church (Holy Mother of God) in Shahumyan. Very Rev. Father introduced Rev. Father Virap, the newly-appointed Pastor of Armenians in Kvemo Kartli region, to his local congregation, wishing him God-pleasing and productive service.
