On March 27, 2016, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili visited the Cathedral of Saint George in Tbilisi to attend a Holy Mass on the occasion of Holy Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Members of delegation included the Head of the State Agency for Religious Issues, Zaza Vashakmadze; the Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia, Sozar Subari; the Chairman of the City Council, Giorgi Alibegashvili; and other state officials.

Georgian PM conveyed his congratulations to Georgian-Armenians and all those, who celebrate Jesus Resurrection, and noted that Easter symbolizes the victory of the kindness over the darkness. Georgian Prime Minister mentioned that friendship between Armenians and Georgian is of much importance and should be appreciated properly. Georgia is proud of its Armenian sons and daughters and Georgians are happy that together with Armenians they are building a country which is a very good example for the world of being a home to so many cultural diversities.

On the same day Easter Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the Surb Prkich (Saint Savior) Church in Batumi. The celebrant was His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. In attendance were the Prime Minister of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara, Archil Khabadze; Batumi Mayor Giorgi Yermakov; Minister of Education, Culture and Sport of Ajara, Giorgi Tavamaishvili; Consul General of Republic of Iran in Batumi Huseyn Mashhadi, RA Consul General in Batumi, Aram Grigoryan, who congratulated the Armenians of Batumi on the occasion of Easter.

The Divine Liturgy in connection to the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ was conducted in other churches of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia.
