Armenian Youth’s Introductory Tour to the Region of Kakheti PDF Print E-mail

The activities of the Youth Department of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia include introductory tours to historical, cultural and religious monuments in Georgia. The first trip was organized to the region of Kakheti.

Early in the morning, on March 5, 2016, at the initiative of the Youth Department of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, a group of 45 young Armenians traveled to Kakheti region.

Bodbe was the first stop on the excursion, headed by the Director of the Diocesan Youth Department, Valery Badalian, in the company of young employees Nina Seropova, Gevorg Poghosov and Suren Abramyan. The Armenian youth visited the Monastery of St. Nino to admire its beautiful ancient architecture, lit candles in the church named after St. Nino, who came to Georgia to spread Christianity.

The introductory tour continued in Sighnaghi. This was a full day tour, but everyone loved it, it was very enjoyable and interesting. The youth explored the Sighnaghi fortress, Nekresi Monastery Complex, Gremi Museum, lit candles in Shuamta Monastery in Alaverdi and Kvelatsminda two-domed church in Gurjaani.

The sunny day in the nature ended very quickly. The youth returned home with bright impressions and enriched knowledge. Included in the excursion program were multiple exciting activities.

The introductory tours to historical, cultural and religious monuments in Georgia will be held on regular basis and will encompass different regions of Georgia.
