On December 28, 2015, the Head of the State Agency for Religious Issues, Zaza Vashakmadze, received the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, in the Chancellery of the Government of Georgia. During the meeting both sides discussed topics for the coming year (2016) and issues of mutual cooperation.

At the end of the meeting they congratulated each other on the occasion of Upcoming Christmas and New Year. Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan invited Zaza Vashakmadze to participate in the ceremony of Christmas celebration, on January 6, 2016.
