On November 29, 2015, at the initiative of the Youth Department (Director – Valery Badalyan) and the Educational Department ( Director – Eugenia Markosyan) of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, under the direction of a teacher of Armenian history, Revik Karapetyan and accompanied by the Coordinator of the Youth Activities of the Department, Nina Seropova, students of the diocesan one-day Armenian schools, young activists of the Youth Department and interested students received another tour of the Armenian cultural footprints in Tbilisi.

The start point for this tour was the Saint Etchmiadzin Church in Avlabari. Young Armenians visited the ruins of the Church of the Red Gospel (Shamkhoretsots Karmir Avetaran) and learned about its history. The young people made their way through the Old City, recalled how Tbilisi was founded and saw the monument of the King Vakhtang Gorgasali. Teacher Karapetyan looked back on past history of the Metekhi fortress; spoke about Saint Shuhsanik, who died defending her right to profess Christianity and is regarded as a martyr. He showed her burial vault and acquainted the young generation with the sightseeing places of the city.

Tbilisi has been home to people of diverse cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. The city tour participants admired the places of worship of the Georgian Orthodox and Armenian Apostolic Churches, the synagogue (Judaism) and the mosque (Islam) that can be found in the city's Old Town not far from each other. The young people visited the renovated Saint Gevorg Church and lit candles there.

Following the Armenian cultural footprints of the city, the tour participants guided by Revik Karapetyan walked through a trading row (Bambis Rigi) named Mantashev Rows, learned about Alexander Mantashev, who was an oil magnate, industrialist, financier and philanthropist of Armenian descent, visited the Surb Nshan (in Armenian for Holy Sign) Church. Near Parajanov’s monument, who was a famous Armenian film director, the teacher of history spoke about his life and works. Then he showed the monument to Parajanov’s muse, talented Georgian actress Sofiko Chiaureli, and mentioned the movies she starred in.

The tour was impressive and very interesting.

Similar tours to the Armenian cultural footprints in Tbilisi will be held on regular basis.
