On October 11, 2015, by order of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, the Blessing of the Water service was conducted in every church of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. In all communities, cities and regions a big crowd was in attendance for the Blessing of the Water, conducted by the Pastors.

From the morning, a festive mood and liveliness prevailed in the Tsiteli village of the Kvemo Kartli region. People hurried to enter the Srbots Avetaranchats Chapel (the Holy Evangelists) in order to participate in a Sunday Divine Liturgy and Blessing of the Waters service. Here the local inhabitants were joined by the Surb Etchmiadzin Church choir (Choirmaster – Luiza Vardanyan) and the Diocesan youth group led by Inessa Sarukhanyan, who had arrived from Tbilisi.

Many believers were gathered together in the chapel. The Divine Liturgy was celebrated by the Very Reverend Father Khoren Hovhannisyan, Pastor and Spiritual Supervisor to the Armenian communities in the Kvemo-Kartli region. At the Holy Mass Archimandrite Khoren delivered a sermon on the meaning of the Blessing of the Waters and the Holy Chrism. Father Khoren sanctified the water and it was distributed to people.

At the end of the solemn ceremony a meeting between local young people and the youth group from Tbilisi took place. Father Khoren highlighted the significance of cooperative relations between the Armenian youth of urban and rural areas, and suggested to organize two meetings a month.

The meeting participants discussed prospects of cooperation.
