On October 10, 2015, the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church celebrated the Feast of the Holy Translators. One of the most favorite and beloved national-ecclesiastical feasts of the Armenian people was properly celebrated in the churches of the Armenian Dioceses in Georgia. Divine Liturgy was conducted in every church belonging to the diocese.

On the occasion of Holy Translators’ day Dilijan spiritual pastor priest Ter Shavarsh Simonyan, accompanying a group of pilgrims, conducted Divine Liturgy in Tbilisi St. Echmiadzin Church.

Believers listened to the sermon on the meaning of the day, read by the officiating priest, who valued the power of the Word of God in the believer’s life. Father Shavarsh urged to spread the Armenian alphabet, created by the Holy Translators, in Armenia and Diaspora, to preserve our precious language, as one of the guarantees of national identity preservation.

At the end of the Holy Mass the diocesan and the “Hayartun” Cultural Center’s staff visited the Khojivank pantheon of Armenian writers and public figures. Here they were joined by the deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Zaruhi Postanjyan, Deputy Principal at French School in Yerevan Anush Gevorgyan, the editor of "Vrastan" ("Georgia") Van Baiburtyan, Karine Manukyan, the Coordinator of National School Projects at the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the Sunday School teacher Roza Zohrabyan et al.

Attendees laid flowers at the gravestones of prominent figures, after that the clergy, Father Manuk Zeynalyan and Father Shavarsh Simonyan performed the Requiem Mass and asked the Holy Translators for their intercession.

Father Manuk Zeynalyan, the deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Zaruhi Postanjyan and the editor Van Baiburtyan spoke about the meaning of the holiday and importance to transfer it to future generations.
