Following the signing of the agreement, the sides, accompanied by founder of “Megerian Carpet” company Raffi Megerian, visited the Megerian Museum and saw on display an The Head of Erebuni administrative district of Yerevan, Davit Grigoryan and the president of the company, Raffi Megerian, received gifts from of the Headquarters of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. During the visit to Yerevan, the delegates of the Diocese participated in the celebrations held in the administrative district of Erebuni. They toured the city and watched the pavilions decorated with exquisite samples, which demonstrated creative thinking and skills of Armenian craftsmen. Director of the Diocesan Cultural Department, Levon Chidilyan delivered a speech during “Erebuni-Yerevan 2799” celebrations, he transmitted congratulatory message and good wishes of the Armenians of Tbilisi to the residents of Yerevan, particularly the administrative district of Erebuni, named after an ancient town. The speaker highly appreciated the role and significance of always young capital city in the lives of the Armenians in Diaspora. The Hayartun Center’s soloists Anna Badalyan and Ani Hovhannisyan adorned “Erebuni-Yerevan 2799” celebrations by their performances of Armenian and Georgian songs. Yerevan is close to the heart of each and every one of us Armenians, it connects Armenians of the world to the Homeland, and It was especially interesting to visit Lusik Agulets-Samvelyan’ House-Museum, who is a painter, ethnographer and writer; the guests were warmly received by the ethnographer and her daughter –in-law, actress Gayane Samvelyan. The hostesses presented interesting facts about national, household and cultural samples, a collection of sculptures by Samvelyan.
The delegates of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia were hosted by Sedrak Mamulyan, chairman of the “Development and Preservation of Armenian Culinary Traditions” NGO. He organized a reception and presented national forgotten food. The delegation of the Headquarters of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia on behalf of the Diocesan Primate, would like to express their deep gratitude to Erebuni administrative district of Yerevan for the warm hospitality.
